Rubber and plexiglass jewellery

The most enjoyable thing I know is to design and make jewellery. I started already at age 12, and then it was jewellery in enamel that mattered. In the late 1990s, I started making jewellery in glass and rubber and since some years I also work in plexiglas. I use glass fusing techniques (fusion) and lampworking (beads) when I make my glass jewellery.

The idea to make rubber jewellery I got when I discovered a lot of fun materials in the workshop at the trucking company where I worked. The workshop was full of tubes for tires, rubber mats, rubber hoses, o-rings, sponge rubber strips, rusty nuts and bolts, cloth and other kinds of clutter that together was really nice.

Plexiglas jewellery I design in a graphic design program and then I cut and engrave the finished design with a laser cutter. Often I mix the different manufacturing methods and materials to create unique jewellery that only exist in one or a few copies.
