My textile training I received in my mother's studio. There were sewn imaginative creations for weddings, parties and ballet schools. There were clay, paints and tools and all kinds of materials to create with. I was trained as a draughtsman and modeler in 1969, and opened my own signage and decor workshop in 1974.
Painting and handicraft courses in, among other things, wool dyeing, spinning and felting led me into the textile road again. 1986 I started the company Jola Models with knitted design and hand-dyed yarns. Today, I work mainly with knits in lamb wool as felted in the washing machine, and with nuno felt.
Nuno felt is a new and exciting art form. Nuno means "weave" in Japanese. Different fibers makes to unite with woven or knitted. The nuno technique fits well with my spontaneous way of creating. I make pictures, interior textiles and clothing, but most "head things" and shawls.
